Install with Google Tag Manager

If your site already loads Google Tag Manager, you can add the tracker without touching your templates.

Create the tag

  1. In your container, create a tag of type Custom HTML.
  2. Paste the script tag into it.
  3. Set the trigger to All Pages.
  4. Save, check it in Preview, then submit and publish the container.
Custom HTMLHTML
<script defer
  src="https://cdn-stg.webmetric.io/v1/b.js"
  data-key="wm_w_your_write_key"
  data-host="https://in-stg.webmetric.io"></script>

Single-page apps

Do not add a History Change trigger. The tracker follows route changes itself, and a second copy on the same page does nothing.

To wait for consent, fire the tag only once your consent tool allows analytics, or load it with data-consent="required" and call consent(true) from your consent tool. See consent mode.

Blockers

Content blockers that block Tag Manager also block every tag it loads. Adding the tag directly to your pages avoids that dependency.

Verify

In Preview mode, check that the tag fired on page load, then open Overview. If nothing arrives, see troubleshooting.
